Dolls, it is go time…we are in full on Christmas madness. We’re at that particularly crazy part of the season where Christmas is right around the corner, but OMG how is there still so much left to do? I try to slow down as much as possible to enjoy the season with my hubs and kids. One of my favorite family traditions is our annual trip to the tree farm. While that might sounds like a total Hallmark moment, in reality it involves very muddy toddlers, overpriced under-branched trees and moderately decent cider. But oh is it ever so perfect in its own way!
We stopped at the tree farm on our way home from visiting my family in the Smoky Mountains. As soon as Ada and Finn saw all of the little trees, they were off and running…running through literally every mud puddle on the farm. It was messy and hilarious and completely adorable. To top it all off, we had to go to a pop up in Louisville for a second tree, because there were no big ones in Tennessee! So the one the kids picks out will truly be theirs!
I mentioned before that I am just not the Southern Martha Stewart my Momma was. Growing up our home was filled with 8 beautifully decorated Christmas trees…Yes…EIGHT! Meanwhile, y’all I’m weeks behind and barely managed to get two trees in the house, let alone decorated. But that’s what Christmas is all about with my bunch. The crazy, funny moments that come in between the best laid intentions and Hallmark holiday moments.
Next week I’m going to share with you another one of my absolute favorite holiday traditions!
